Change Your Perceptions – Change Your Life

We can perceive things as bad;

or we can perceive things as opportunities.

faces_vaseCan you see the two images in this picture?

Most of the time, we tend to see things from only 1 perspective.  We say, “this is good” and “that is bad.”  We tell ourselves that our point of view is the only one, or at least the only one that matters.  Most of us get stuck in the first perception we have.  Being “stuck” limits us and doesn’t feel especially comfortable.

When we get stuck in our first impression, it takes some effort to shift ourselves, to see the situation differently.  This is akin to,

“Don’t bother to give me new facts, as I’ve already made up my mind!”

Have you ever found yourself in this situation, wishing you had other options?

Shift your perspective.

The answer is to shift your perspective, but if this is not your current habit, it might be a bit difficult to do at first.

Still, it’s best to start sometime, somewhere . . . like right now!?!

There are 2 ways to view the image at the top of this page.

  • Looked at one way, you clearly see a white vase.
  • Looked at another way, you will see two black silhouettes.

Can you see both images?

Can you quickly shift up and back between them?

Practice seeing both and shifting up and back.  This will begin to get your mind into the habit of shifting your perception.

Then transfer this habit to real life situations.

When you begin to look at situations as opportunities, doors and windows will open in your life.  These are portals to new possibilities.  No matter how difficult, challenging, or uncomfortable a situation might be, if you persist in judging it as negative, you will probably overlook the best possible solution that is right there in front of you . . . but you can’t see it.

OK.  It may take the best possible solution a little while to appear to you, but if you don’t open the portal, how will you know when it’s there?

Opening the Portals

Hang up a sign that you can see and read several times a day which says,

Whenever something unexpected happens,

I see it as a new opportunity.

I express gratitude for it, even when

I may not feel entirely good about it.

I am open to receiving the

best possible solutions to this challenge.

The Universe completely supports me.

Remember that any new situation already has multiple options built into it.  Think of it this way:

  1. Your soul chose to live this life.  Your soul path, which your soul created, includes what you will experience, as well as multiple possible outcomes for each situation or challenge.

  2. Your soul (who is, after all, YOU) created optimal solutions and learning opportunities, and already knows the best possible choices for the best possible outcomes.

  3. You, the aspect of your soul living this life, can choose to follow your soul path by opening to receive the guidance that will bring you the best possible solutions.  Those solutions already exist because time is not linear in the higher planes.  You only have to open yourself to receive them and thus allow them to arrive.

  4. Make space inside yourself – in your heart and in your mind – so these solutions can appear to you and be recognized by you when they do appear.

Begin by opening yourself – by changing your perceptions.

Become willing to consider that there is more than 1 way of seeing, feeling, and understanding every situation.

You still have free will – you still get to choose.

It’s entirely up to you.
